"THE ADVANCEMENT OF TECHNOLOGY AND BACK PAIN" PART 2

There are four ways sitting can contribute to back pain.

1. Compression on the lower spine: Sitting all the time can add undue compression on the joints of the lower back. Many individuals think sitting is better for the lower back {waist} than standing but sometimes sitting can be worse than standing. When you sit down, the weight of the upper back is rested on the pelvis, lower back, hips, knees and ankles. Sitting and standing can both put pressure on the lower back but though somewhat diverse procedure. If you suffer poor posture or poor core stability, you might feel pain in your lower back but sitting will put more pressure on the spine of the lower back.

2. Maintaining a fixed posture: Our body adapts to stresses we place on it. If you maintain a sedentary {i.E to be in a position for long hours} habitual lifestyle and sit all the time at work, it is no mean feat that your posture will be affected as a result of being stationary for too long. For many individuals, the changes in the upper back {neck} and mid-back are more noticeable than the changes in the lower back posture but excessive and prolonged sitting can harmfully affect lower back posture.

3. Poor flexibility: Imagine what sitting in front of a computer as a data administrator sitting on his chair and working out some ICT stuff or a secretary staying glued to the desk attending to correspondence all day, every day at work can do to your flexibility.

Flexibility is imperative for decreasing the possibility of contacting back pain. When your hips, legs, and spine are less flexible, your body does not move as efficiently as it ought to and when your body does not move efficiently, it compensates by putting additional pressure on the joints, ligaments and muscles.

4. Weakness and poor fitness: Many years ago, during the era of our ancestors more people were more active "even my grandpa before his demise used to be very active".

When you live an active lifestyle, your body is more resistant to activity related stress. Many individuals injure their lower back doing relatively easy things like bending down to pick something light off the ground. A sedentary lifestyle will definitely lead to weakness and poor fitness, which will increase the chances of contacting lower back pain.

So, if your job involves sitting down all day, then working out {exercise} is even more essential, so visit your doctor today who would refer you to a skilled chiropractor or physiotherapist...
